We all thought it would be due to the rise of sentient toasters and televisions that humanity would be unravelled by technology. No one ever expected it to occur of our own volition.

Any semblance of peace was destroyed by corruption and false information. They tell us "emotions are weakness, and weakness is intolerable."

We had reached the point of overpopulation, and counteractive measures had to be taken.A limit was placed on the amount of children allowed to buy time while we searched for a new home.

With the limit on births, parents wanted perfection.They sought to fix every physical ailment of their children. When this was not enough, they turned to improving their children's minds.

Those who could afford to do so replaced ill or unsatisfactory parts of the brain with machinery. The poor were left to suffer in silence with their afflictions. Those with replacements were not to interact with the unchanged.

They tried to do it to me. But I still feel. I wanted to know I was not alone in my emotions. I talked to some of the unchanged, and I have documented their unheard stories. Visual representations can be found above.
